Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, USA is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively on ABC's Lost television series. Her parents had divorced and she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as Rachel's Room's title character the web-based video show Rachel's Room in 2001. In 2002 she was nominated to receive an Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main role for two seasons, and also won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was forced to quit the show to focus on her professional film work. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. The actress starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. The actress reprised her character for Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version to the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also her muse to the stars that catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. As a part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens, she played small parts in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko, a famous cult film. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both of which earned their Golden Globe Award nods. Following several commercially-successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). The film was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). Then she continued to play in comedies as well as dramas such Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (12). Other roles she has played include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal started her career as a director, screenwriter and script writer when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter. The film won Best Screenplay at the Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
